This adult training camp and wine country tour is a unique experience that combines the thrill of ice skating with the relaxation of exploring picturesque wine regions. This program is designed for adults ages 21+ who are passionate about ice skating and appreciate the finer things in life.

Kendall-Jackson is a family-owned winery based in Sonoma County, California, known for its premium wines and commitment to quality and sustainability. Founded in 1982, it is especially recognized for its popular Chardonnay and for crafting approachable, elegant wines that reflect California’s coastal vineyards.

Bennett Lane Winery is a family-owned winery in Calistoga, Napa Valley, known for its small-lot, handcrafted wines. Specializing in varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, the winery focuses on quality, minimal-intervention winemaking, and creating approachable, food-friendly wines with a reputation for excellence.
WINE TOUR SCHEDULE
8am - Arrive at Vacaville ice sports

Breakfast bites and coffee will be available at 8AM to grab and go.
10AM - Bennett Lane Winery in Calistoga
12:45PM - FREE TIME in Downtown Healdsburg, CA; shop, stroll, taste

You can either eat lunch on the bus on the way here or at the park in Downtown Healdsburg

Be back at the bus no later than 3PM as that is when the bus will be leaving!
3:30PM - Kendall Jackson Wine Estates and Gardens

Peter Sasmore
Born in England, raised in California, Peter started skating at the age of three.
As his interest in Ice Dance grew, Peter trained and competed all over the world becoming a
USFS Double Gold Medalist and National and International competitor.
After turning professional, Peter has compiled a long list of successful competitors as a three-
time US National team coach. After settling in the Nashville area, Peter has had the opportunity
to coach, and now manage, the Learn to Skate program, and special events for Ford Ice
Center’s Scott Hamilton Skating Academy.

Russ Witherby
Russ is a National International Coach who has been teaching since 1996. He is a member of USFS & LTS USA Director of Skating at Wissahickon Skating Club near Philadelphia.Has served on many USFS committees including the Judges & Ice Dance, Athletes Advisory Committee’s.
As a Skater, Russ was a National, International, World & Olympic Competitor for Team USA in Ice Dancing, 1992 US Ice Dance Champion, 1992 US Olympic Team.
As a coach, Russ enjoys working with skaters at all levels and holds USFS Gold Medals in Dance & Free Dance, as well as International Dances.
Russ teaches all levels of Dance, Choreography, Freestyle, Moves in the Fields and Stroking.

Charyl Brusch
Charyl is a premier spin specialist and sought-after coach, renowned for transforming skaters’ technical precision and competitive results. Working with athletes from beginners to elite competitors, she helps skaters maximize spin quality, increase scoring potential, and consistently achieve higher levels with positive GOE.
A trusted resource within the Bay Area skating community, Charyl collaborates closely with top coaches to develop well-rounded, high-performing athletes. Her impressive coaching résumé includes work with local, national, international, and Olympic competitors, including Alysa Liu, Sierra Vanetta, Dinh Tran, Kate Wang, Soho Lee and many others.
With over four decades of experience, Charyl has participated in camps, seminars, and Audrey Weisiger’s G2C workshops across the country, sharing her expertise with skaters and coaches alike. She brings a unique depth of insight from her professional career, having toured with Ice Capades and performed in numerous elite skating productions.
Recognized for her technical expertise, results-driven approach, and ability to elevate performance at every level, Charyl continues to be a leading force in the development of competitive figure skaters.

Jeff Crandell
Jeff Crandell is a Double USFS Gold Medalist and holds a Level VI Ranking and Registered Rating with the Professional Skating Association. Jeff is very excited to bring his 25 years of broad coaching experience to the Wine Country Adult Camp. Jeff relocated from the Bay Area to Palm Springs in 2022 where he continues coaching all levels of skating and guiding each athlete through their own personal skating journey. Jeff has coached Adult National Champions, coached skaters to the podium at the US National Championships, coached his athlete to a silver medal at the 2020 Youth Olympics in Switzerland, and coached skaters at numerous ISU competitions around the world as part of Team USA. Jeff is known for teaching excellent jump technique which helps build consistency and prevent recurring injuries.

Kimberly Graves-Hamm
Kimberly Graves knows what it’s like to be in the spotlight. A former high-level ballet dancer, Graves danced in the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance as a child, later in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in Canada, and with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. She spent years on the stage performing for crowds and is now taking her talents to the ice, working with some of the country’s top National Showcase skaters.
What separates Graves from other coaches is her approach. She is very detailed with her work and pays attention to every last movement, encouraging skaters to use every part of their body to portray a character. She focuses on musicality, presentation, interpretation of character and smoother connections and transitions. She helps introverted skaters let go of inhibitions and skate BIGGER, projecting to an entire arena while not being afraid of the character they are portraying.

Our guest coaches bring elite level experience and fresh insight, offering detailed feedback and techniques you may not get in a group setting. It is the perfect way to elevate your skating while making the most of your time at camp.
Test Sessions
On Thursday, April 30, we will be offering a virtual test session during camp. Kaitlyn Landes, President of VVFSC, will be on site to assist with filming and ensure a smooth testing experience.
Ice time for the test session is included for full week campers. Skaters attending on a daily basis may participate by purchasing a $20 freestyle session at the cashier booth.
